- Comprehensive Assessment

Before starting any rehabilitation program, I conduct a thorough assessment to understand your medical history, surgical procedure, mobility level, and overall health. This helps me design a rehabilitation plan that is safe, effective, and tailored to your individual recovery needs.
- Pain Management

Pain is common after surgery, and our physiotherapists work to manage it effectively. Using a combination of heat/cold therapy, manual therapy, electrical stimulation, and therapeutic exercises, I aim to reduce pain and discomfort while promoting healing.
- Restoring Movement and Mobility

After surgery, stiffness and limited range of motion can significantly impact daily activities. I guide you through a series of gentle mobility exercises to help restore flexibility and improve the range of motion of the affected area. These exercises gradually build strength and mobility, improving your ability to move freely.
- Strengthening Exercises

Surgery can lead to muscle weakness, which may limit your ability to perform everyday tasks. I focus on targeted strengthening exercises to rebuild the muscles around the affected area. By improving strength, I help enhance stability, prevent future injury, and improve overall function.
- Balance and Fall Prevention

Falls are a major concern for the elderly, particularly after surgery. I incorporate balance training and proprioceptive exercises to improve coordination and stability. My goal is to reduce the risk of falls and increase confidence when walking or standing.
- Posture and Body Mechanics Training

Proper posture and body mechanics are crucial to ensure the healing process continues smoothly and to avoid strain on joints, muscles, and ligaments. I provide posture training and teach safe techniques for daily activities such as sitting, standing, and lifting, minimizing the risk of re-injury.
- Functional Rehabilitation

Once you’ve regained strength and mobility, I move on to functional rehabilitation. This stage focuses on improving your ability to perform everyday tasks such as dressing, bathing, walking, and climbing stairs. The goal is to help you regain independence and return to your normal activities as quickly and safely as possible.
- Education and Self-Care

Education is key to long-term success. I work with you and your caregivers to provide strategies for home exercises, self-care, and lifestyle modifications that can speed up recovery and prevent setbacks. I also advise on nutrition and hydration to support healing and overall well-being.
- Gradual Return to Activities

For elderly patients returning to more active pursuits, such as walking, gardening, or light exercise, I develop a gradual return-to-activity program. This ensures that you are physically prepared and confident before resuming more strenuous activities.
